Architect Zaha Hadid designed the Dongdaemun Design Plaza, stating, "I focused on the dynamism of Dongdaemun, constantly changing from dawn to dusk. Using a unique architectural language of curves, surfaces, diagonals, and slopes, I created a space where natural and artificial elements seamlessly connect."

A Hot Spot for Mysterious Nighttime Photography

The entrance to Oullim Square is a great spot for nighttime photography, capturing the grandeur of the interior and the atmosphere created by the architectural materials. The gate to Sallimteo, which divides the Alimteo and Gamcheong spaces, is a focal point for the dazzling curves and lighting both inside and out.
DDP is always bustling, hosting events such as Seoul Fashion Week, the Mnet Asian Music Awards (MAMA), the Van Cleef & Arpels exhibition, BMW's new car launch, the BTS themed exhibition, and the Seoul Biennale of Architecture and Urbanism. Dongdaemun Design Plaza is a popular spot for taking night-time photos on social media.
